While Rohit dominated headlines from India’s perspective, England’s batting unit also produced several record-breaking performances.

Ben Duckett scored 141 runs, registering the highest individual ODI score at Lord’s and surpassing Sir Vivian Richards’ long-standing record. Alongside Jacob Bethell, who made 91, Duckett put together a 192-run opening stand, the highest partnership for any wicket by England against India in ODI cricket.

England eventually posted 387 for 3, their highest ODI total against India and the highest ODI team score ever recorded at Lord’s.

Joe Root added another record of his own. His unbeaten 74 meant he finished the series with 249 runs without being dismissed, setting a new record for the most runs scored in a bilateral ODI series without losing his wicket.

Memorable Moments Beyond the Numbers

The match also featured several emotional and memorable scenes. Players observed a minute’s silence in memory of West Indies great Sir Garfield Sobers, who passed away earlier this month. Indian legend Yuvraj Singh was invited to ring the traditional Lord’s bell before the start of play.

Another talking point emerged when television cameras showed Rohit using a bat belonging to Mumbai teammate Shardul Thakur. The image quickly gained attention among fans, with Thakur joking during commentary that Rohit had borrowed several bats from him over the years.
