Dadu Ram, a laborer, lives in Chingrajpara, Atal Awas area of Sarkanda, Bilaspur. His first wife passed away several years ago. He became acquainted with a 30-year-old woman from his neighborhood, and over time, their friendship blossomed into love. Ignoring societal norms, both decided to spend their lives together.

On Friday night, the couple took seven phere at their local Shiva temple, considering God as a witness. All traditional wedding rituals—including varmala (garland exchange), sindoordaan (applying vermilion), and maang bharna—were performed in customary fashion.
