CG Weather Update: Weather Pattern to Change in Chhattisgarh, Rain and Thunderstorm Alert Issued for Several Districts

The weather pattern in Chhattisgarh is likely to change once again. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in several districts of the state on Thursday. According to the department, weather activities including thundercloud formation, lightning and rainfall are expected to increase across the state from today.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Raipur, one or two places in the state may witness light to moderate rainfall. Some areas are also likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour.
Possibility of Rain in These Districts
As per the district-level nowcast warning issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada, Bastar, Kondagaon, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Raipur, Balodabazar, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Korba, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Bemetara, Mungeli, Surguja, Surajpur, Korea and Balrampur districts may receive light rainfall. This warning will remain effective till 10:13 AM on Thursday.
Rainfall Recorded During Last 24 Hours
During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall was recorded at one or two places in the state. The highest rainfall of 3 cm was recorded in Kuakonda area of Dantewada district. Apart from this, Korba and Pendra Road received 2 cm rainfall each, while Pathariya, Mainpat, Bhaisma, Kansabel, Katghora, Pendra and Surajpur recorded 1 cm rainfall each.
Rajnandgaon Hottest, Pendra Road Coolest
According to the weather department, the highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at 42 degrees Celsius in Rajnandgaon, while the lowest minimum temperature of 22 degrees Celsius was recorded in Pendra Road. Raipur recorded a maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 28.3 degrees Celsius.
Partial Clouds and Storm Possibility in Raipur
The local weather forecast for Raipur city states that the sky is likely to remain partly cloudy on June 4. There are chances of rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds in the capital city. The maximum temperature in Raipur is expected to remain around 41 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may hover near 28 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has advised farmers and the general public to remain alert. According to officials, harvested crops kept in the open may suffer damage due to rain and strong winds. People have been advised to drive carefully during rainfall, avoid taking shelter under trees and stay away from waterlogged and low-lying areas. The department has also appealed to farmers to avoid the use of fertilizers and pesticides during rainfall activities.
