Raigarh Collectorate Introduces Zoned Parking System to Ease Congestion
Digital Desk
In Raigarh, authorities have implemented a structured parking system within the collectorate premises to streamline vehicle movement and reduce congestion. The new arrangement, announced by district officials, divides parking into six designated zones for government staff, officials, and visitors. The initiative is intended to prevent disorderly parking and improve accessibility for people visiting administrative offices.
Officials said the system was introduced after repeated complaints about vehicles being parked randomly across the campus, often blocking access routes and causing inconvenience. Under the revised rules, both two-wheelers and four-wheelers must be parked only in their assigned zones.
According to the order issued by the Additional Collector, each department has been allotted a specific parking location. Parking Zone-1, located behind the district treasury, is reserved for employees of the treasury, food, statistics, mineral, and NIC branches. Zone-2, near the boundary wall in front of the treasury, has been designated for official two-wheelers belonging to grievance, disaster relief, DMF, public service center, and public hearing sections.
A covered shed has been marked as Zone-3 for vehicles associated with the finance branch, superintendent offices, stenographers, the Collector’s court, the Additional Collector’s court, and related chambers. Private four-wheelers visiting the premises must use Zone-4, situated near the Chhattisgarh Mahtari statue.
Zone-5, located in front of the public convenience center, will accommodate both government and private two-wheelers, including those from labour, tribal, election, land acquisition, excise, and postal departments. Meanwhile, Zone-6 near the water tank opposite the Punjab National Bank ATM has been reserved for official four-wheelers.
The parking contractor has been directed to ensure visitors’ vehicles are guided strictly to Zones 4 and 5. Authorities have urged staff and citizens to comply with the new system so traffic flow inside the premises remains smooth.
Officials added that the move is part of broader administrative efforts across Chhattisgarh to improve public service infrastructure and reduce logistical bottlenecks at government offices.
