Raipur School Secures Third Place at National School Band Competition 2025–26

A private school from Raipur has brought national recognition to Chhattisgarh by securing third place at the National School Band Competition 2025–26, held in New Delhi under the joint auspices of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The achievement highlights the growing prominence of disciplined extracurricular education in the state.

The competition featured band teams from across the country, with participation drawn from more than 2,100 schools representing 28 states and eight Union Territories. Following a rigorous multi-stage selection process, only 16 school bands qualified for the national finals. The Raipur school’s band team emerged as one of the top performers, earning the third prize against stiff national competition.

The team comprised students from Classes 6 and 7, whose performance stood out for its precision, coordination and discipline. Despite their young age, the cadets demonstrated a high level of musical skill and synchronisation, reflecting months of structured training and practice.

The journey to the national stage began at the zonal-level competition held in Hyderabad, where the Raipur school secured first place. This victory earned the team a berth at the national finals in New Delhi, where they competed with the best school bands from different regions of India.

During the national event, the Raipur cadets impressed the jury with their disciplined march, accurate timing and collective harmony. Observers noted that the team maintained consistency throughout the performance, a factor that played a crucial role in their final ranking. Judges praised the students for their confident stage presence and technical control, describing the performance as a strong example of youth discipline and teamwork.

The chief guest at the event commended the students for displaying exceptional commitment and coordination. In his address, he said such competitions help inculcate values of discipline, cooperation and dedication among students, alongside nurturing artistic talent.

School founder Acharya Surendra Pratap Singh expressed satisfaction over the achievement, calling it the result of sustained effort by students, instructors and parents. He said the recognition at the national level reflects the institution’s emphasis on holistic development and co-curricular excellence. Singh encouraged the students to continue striving for higher goals while maintaining the same level of discipline and enthusiasm.

Educators involved in the training said the success would motivate younger students to participate in structured cultural and discipline-based activities. The achievement has also drawn appreciation from the local academic community, positioning Raipur as a growing centre for student-led excellence beyond academics.
