Digital Desk
A 17-year-old Class 10 student was found hanging at her residence in Hirankhedi village under Berasia police station limits in rural Bhopal on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Vandana Rajput (17), police said.
According to Berasia police station in-charge Virendra Sen, Vandana’s family members discovered her hanging inside her room early in the morning. They immediately took her down and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an inquiry into the incident.
No Suicide Note Found
Investigators confirmed that no suicide note was recovered from the scene. The reasons behind Vandana’s suspected suicide remain unclear, though officers are examining all possible angles, including academic stress or personal issues.
During the on-site inspection, police found a mobile phone near the body, which has been seized and sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for digital examination to check for any messages or data that could help determine the circumstances leading to her death.
Body Sent for Post-Mortem
A separate police team reached the hospital shortly after receiving information about the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and the report is awaited to confirm the exact cause and time of death.
Preliminary findings suggest no external injuries apart from those consistent with hanging. The investigation will continue based on forensic and autopsy results, police said.
