Bank Manager Caught Red-Handed Taking ₹5,000 Bribe for Loan Approval

A bank manager was caught red-handed while accepting a ₹5,000 bribe. He had allegedly demanded ₹75,000 in total to approve a loan, exposing corruption in the lending process.

Lokayukta police has trapped a bank manager while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5000 in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. Branch manager of Chhanera branch of Canara Bank Radha Raman Singh Rajput was caught by Lokayukta team from Indore. It is alleged that under Acharya Vidyasagar Yojana, a farmer was sanctioned a loan of Rs. 6 lakhs for setting up a dairy industry. In return for releasing the loan, a bribe of Rs. 75000 was demanded.

It is being told that the branch manager had already taken Rs. 10000. Today he was caught while taking the second installment. Complainant Vinod Lovanshi, a resident of Rampuri Rayat, was sanctioned Rs. 6 lakhs by the government for setting up a milk dairy under Acharya Vidyasagar Yojana.

In return for depositing the above amount in the applicant's bank account, the accused bank manager demanded a bribe of Rs. 75000 from the applicant. He had already taken the first installment of Rs. 10000 as bribe. It was decided to pay the second installment of Rs. 5000 today. The amount of the third installment was to be paid when it was credited to the applicant's bank account.
