Bhopal Coaching Centers Sealed: Allen Among 6 Closed Over Fire Safety

The local Municipal Corporation has intensified its enforcement drive against coaching centers violating fire safety norms. In a continuous second-day crackdown, the administration completely sealed six coaching institutes across the Indrapuri and Lalghati areas for failing to comply with safety regulations, including the prominent Allen Coaching Classes.
Critical Violations Uncovered at Indrapuri’s Goyal Tower
The inspection team found highly alarming conditions at Goyal Tower in Indrapuri. A single commercial building was housing six different coaching and training institutes, mostly operating online classes:

The property lacked proper ventilation and did not have any emergency exit routes. Hundreds of students were crammed into narrow spaces, posing a massive safety hazard in the event of an emergency.
61 Institutes Notified; Only 15 Respond
Out of the 61 coaching institutes previously served show-cause notices for fire safety lapses, only 15 have submitted their responses so far.
Monday Deadline Issued: Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Bhuvan Gupta stated that all coaching institutes must mandatory implement three key safety measures: at least two separate entry and exit gates, adequate structural ventilation for safe evacuation, and fully functional fire safety equipment. Institutions have been given until Monday to rectify these issues, after which the fire safety audit will be extended to public spaces like hospitals, hotels, restaurants, marriage gardens, shopping malls, and cinemas.
