Indore Becomes First City to Launch ‘Digital Address’ System with Unique QR Codes
Indore,M.P
Indore has become the first city in India to implement the ‘Digital Address’ system. Each address will now have a unique QR code, making navigation, verification, and delivery services more efficient and accurate.
Indore in Madhya Pradesh has become the first city in the country where every house will get a unique QR code based digital address. This new system is being started as a pilot project in Ward 82 from June 29. The special thing about the digital address is that as soon as the citizens scan the QR code of their house, a digital page will open on their mobile. Through this page, it will be possible to pay electricity and water bills, deposit property tax, register complaints and demand certificates or other documents.
This system is completely free and no citizen will have to pay any fee for it.
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava said that this scheme is being implemented initially in Ward 82, Zone 14. In the coming months, it will be expanded in a phased manner to more than 7 lakh properties.
Initially, some services have been activated, which will be further linked to more urban facilities. This system is part of the DigiPIN scheme of the Government of India and Indore is the first city in the country to be connected to this system. “New Indore, new address – digital address. No more visits to the Municipal Corporation, no more long queues – every government service will now be available with just one scan.”
