A passenger travelling from Ahmedabad to Patna was allegedly kicked and pushed from the moving train following an onboard argument, leaving him with severe injuries

A 28-year-old passenger was critically injured after falling from the Ahmedabad-Patna Express near Dabhoura railway station on Saturday. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident, which reportedly involved an altercation among passengers.

The injured passenger, identified as Karan Kumar Saini, a native of Patna in Bihar, was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Smriti Hospital in Rewa where he continues to receive treatment. Hospital sources described his condition as serious but stable.

Argument Turned Violent

According to initial information gathered by the Government Railway Police (GRP), a dispute broke out between some passengers inside a coach of the Ahmedabad-Patna Express while the train was moving through Rewa district. The situation escalated quickly, leading to physical pushing and shoving.

Saini, who was seated nearby, lost his balance during the scuffle. In his statement recorded at the hospital, he alleged that a co-passenger deliberately kicked him, causing him to fall off the train.

What the Injured Passenger Said

"I was sitting in the train when some people next to me started fighting. Suddenly, a person kicked me and I fell straight down from the train," Saini told GRP personnel from his hospital bed.

The incident occurred near Dabhoura railway station. Local residents who witnessed the fall immediately alerted railway authorities and the GRP.

Rescue and Hospitalisation

A team of GRP officers reached the spot shortly after receiving the information. The injured passenger was found in a serious condition and rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Smriti Hospital in Rewa. Doctors attending to him said he has sustained multiple injuries, though they declined to comment on long-term prognosis.

Investigation Underway

GRP officials confirmed that they have begun a formal investigation into the matter. Teams are questioning passengers who were travelling in the same coach to reconstruct the sequence of events.

"We are trying to determine what exactly triggered the argument and whether the passenger fell accidentally or was pushed deliberately. All facts will be examined before any action is taken," a GRP officer said.

Police are also reviewing passenger lists and attempting to trace individuals who may have witnessed the altercation.

Passenger Concerns

The incident has raised concerns among passengers travelling on the Ahmedabad-Patna Express route, with some questioning security arrangements inside coaches during overnight journeys. Railway officials have not yet issued a formal statement on the matter.

The GRP has assured that appropriate legal action will follow once the investigation establishes the facts. Saini remains under medical observation, with doctors monitoring his condition closely.
