Uttarakhand SSSC Exam Cancelled Amid Paper Leak Allegations
Digital Desk
The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has cancelled the recruitment exam for technical positions in the Agriculture Department, originally scheduled for Sunday, October 12, following allegations of a paper leak. The commission took the decision a day before the exam, citing concerns raised by candidates.
UKSSSC Chairman G.S. Martolia stated,
"The exam for technical positions in the Agriculture Department scheduled for October 12 has been postponed. Since the process of issuing admit cards had not started, the exam will not take place on the scheduled date."
Approximately 600 candidates were expected to appear for this exam, which aimed to fill 25 positions.
September 21 Exam Also Cancelled
This marks the second cancellation related to the paper leak issue. The exam held on September 21 was also scrapped after a single-member investigation commission submitted its report to CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, prompting UKSSSC to issue a notification cancelling the exam.
Earlier October 5 Exam Postponed
The exam for 45 posts of Cooperative Inspector (Class-II) and Assistant Development Officer (Cooperative), scheduled on October 5, had already been postponed at the request of candidates to allow better preparation and ensure exam integrity.
New dates for all postponed exams will be announced soon, according to the Commission.
Graduate-Level Recruitment Paper Leak
The controversy stems from the graduate-level recruitment exam conducted on September 21, which began at 11 AM but was compromised at 11:30 AM when three pages of the question paper circulated on WhatsApp. This led to widespread protests across the state, with unemployed organizations staging dharna at Parade Ground in Dehradun.
After about eight days, CM Dhami met with the protesting candidates and announced a CBI investigation. Following the investigation, UKSSSC received the report and promptly cancelled the examination based on its findings.
This series of cancellations underscores the commission’s commitment to ensuring transparency and integrity in recruitment exams while addressing candidates’ concern
