IIT Ropar Appoints Nikhil Swami as Public Relations Officer

The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) has appointed accomplished communications expert Nikhil Swami as its new Public Relations Officer, effective October 2025. The appointment underscores the institute’s focus on elevating its national and international visibility through strategic media engagement and brand positioning.

Nikhil Swami brings more than six years of rich experience in crafting and executing integrated communication strategies for government and public-sector entities. In his new role, he will spearhead IIT Ropar’s strategic communication and public relations efforts to further strengthen the institute’s reputation as a centre of academic and research excellence.

Prior to this, Swami served as Assistant Manager – Corporate Communications at NBCC (India) Limited, where he led comprehensive 360-degree communication campaigns across print, digital, and social media platforms. Earlier, at NTPC Limited, he held the position of Corporate Communications Executive, managing internal and external communication, proactive media relations, and crisis communication initiatives.
