Kanpur University Introduces Liberal Education Degree

Kanpur. While studying BSc and BA, if a student fails to collect the minimum credit score in his main faculty subject, then he will be declared graduated by giving a liberal education degree. Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) is now going to implement this provision prescribed by the University Grants Commission under the National Education Policy.

CSJMU is now going to remove a major obstacle to graduate education. The rule of liberal education degree is being implemented from the new academic session. With this, the graduation education of any student will not remain incomplete. Despite low credit score, students will definitely be given a graduation degree.

Its objective is to properly evaluate the graduation education of the students and provide them such a degree so that they can focus on subject study by getting free from the constraints of the faculty. According to the teachers of the university, those students who are deprived of normal performance in other subjects due to special performance in sports, arts or any other subject will be able to get the benefit of liberal education degree.

Scope of liberal education degree, this is how you will get the benefit The format of the degree of the students getting liberal education degree will change. They will be able to get postgraduate education in those subjects in which the eligibility for admission will be only a bachelor's degree.

It can be understood in such a way that only those students taking admission in BSc, BCom or BA will get the faculty related bachelor's degree who will complete education in at least two main subjects from their faculty. For this, they will have to earn minimum 60 percent credits in two main subjects of the selected faculty in three years.

If a student in BSc has taken two main subjects from the science faculty and one subject from the language faculty or humanities, then he will get the BSc degree only when he gets minimum 60 percent of the total credit score (60 percent of 88 i.e. 53 credits) in two main subjects of the science faculty.

Students who cannot do this will be given a liberal education degree and will not be able to do MSc in science subjects. Similar rules will apply to B.Com and B.A. as well.
