5.5 Crore US Visas at Risk, Truck Drivers May Face Ban

In a shocking development, around 5.5 crore visas in America are reportedly in jeopardy, with the possibility of a ban on truck drivers. The decision is linked to growing security and regulatory concerns.

The US has stopped issuing visas to foreign truck drivers with immediate effect. This decision was taken because of an illegal immigrant named Harjinder Singh, whose negligence killed three people in a road accident. Foreign Minister Marco Rubio said that the increasing number of foreign truck drivers is endangering American lives and the livelihood of American truck drivers.

Ever since Donald Trump took over the US presidency, he has been constantly taking action against illegal immigrants. Meanwhile, the US administration has taken a big decision.

In fact, the US has immediately stopped issuing visas to all foreign truck drivers. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio gave this information on the social media platform X.

No entry for foreign truck drivers

In a post on August 21, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote that we are stopping the issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers with immediate effect.

It is being told that the reason behind this decision is Harjinder Singh, who went to America illegally, whose mistake led to a major road accident in which 3 people lost their lives.

What did the US Secretary of State say?

In a post on X, the US Secretary of State wrote that we are stopping the issuance of labor visas for commercial truck drivers with immediate effect. The growing number of foreign drivers driving large tractor-trailer trucks on US roads is endangering American lives and affecting the livelihoods of American truck drivers.

Why was this decision taken?

It is worth noting that this announcement of the US Secretary of State came soon after the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued an arrest warrant for Harjinder Singh. Let us tell you that DHS quoted the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as saying that an illegal alien named Singh attempted to illegally make a U-turn from an official-use only entry point on August 12, causing his truck to block all lanes of the highway and resulting in an accident, killing 3 people.

These instructions were issued to truck drivers

Let us tell you that earlier US President Donald Trump had issued an order in late April. According to this order, it was made mandatory for all commercial truck drivers operating in the US to be proficient in English.

At the same time, The Hill, citing a White House order, reported that truck drivers should be able to read and understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic security border patrol, agricultural checkpoints and cargo weight-limit station officers.

The order further stated that on Thursday the US State Department confirmed that it is reviewing more than 55 million US visa holders for possible deportable violations.

In which cases related to criminal activity, overstaying the visa period and involvement in any type of terrorist activity will be investigated.
