Operation Sindoor: India Destroys Pakistan’s Air Defense System; Iran Acquires Same HQ-9B from China

Under the covert Operation Sindoor, India reportedly destroyed Pakistan’s advanced air defense system, marking a significant strategic move. Interestingly, Iran has recently procured the same Chinese-made HQ-9B system, highlighting the growing influence of Chinese defense exports in the region.

Amid tensions with Israel, Iran has expressed its trust in China's HQ-9B air defense system and it has been airlifted in an emergency. This is the same system which Pakistan also relied on. Due to US sanctions, Iran cannot make cash payments, so this deal has been done in exchange for oil.

Amid tensions with Israel, Iran has expressed its trust in China's HQ-9B air defense system and it has been airlifted in an emergency. This is the same air defense system which Pakistan also relied on, but during Operation Sindoor, India destroyed it and beat the terrorist country badly.

Reports suggest that two Chinese military transport aircraft have arrived in Iran in recent weeks and long range surface-to-surface missile systems have been delivered. In all likelihood, this is the HQ-9B air defense system. It is designed to avoid attacks from modern fighter aircraft and cruise missiles.

Why did China give HQ-9B to Iran?

Actually, Iran is under US sanctions and cannot pay in cash. In such a situation, this deal has been done in exchange for oil. Iran will give oil to China, through which the amount of this deal will be paid. On one hand, China will strengthen its economy by buying oil from Iran at cheap rates and on the other hand, it will also strengthen its hold by selling weapons in the Middle East. Apart from this, the credibility of this air defense system, which failed in Pakistan, has fallen in the world, in such a situation, by supplying it to Iran, China wants to re-establish the credibility of its technology.
