Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has rejected an unsolicited offer from a plastic surgeon to alter her nose, saying she is comfortable with her appearance and does not need a medical professional commenting on her body.
Frederiksen shared a screenshot of the exchange on Instagram after returning from an official visit to Ukraine, where she had attended diplomatic engagements as the war in the country continued. She did not identify the surgeon who contacted her.
According to Frederiksen, the doctor offered to “fix that little spot” on her nose. She responded publicly to the message, saying she was happy with her body and questioning why a male plastic surgeon felt entitled to comment on it.
Surgeon’s Unsolicited Advice
The Danish leader's post quickly attracted attention online because the interaction was not about her political work but about her physical appearance.
Rather than treating the message as a private exchange, Frederiksen used it to highlight what she described as a broader problem faced by women in prominent positions.
