Delhi Blast Case: Accused Dr Muzammil Claims Dr Shaheen is His Wife, NIA Reveals ₹28 Lakh Funding to Jaish-e-Mohammed Module

In a major revelation in the Delhi Red Fort car blast case that killed 15 people on November 10, arrested terrorist Dr Muzammil Ahmed Ganai has told the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that Dr Shaheen Saeed, earlier described as his girlfriend and dubbed “Madam Surgeon” in the terror module, is actually his legally wedded wife.

 

Secret Nikah Near Al-Falah University

According to NIA sources quoted by The Times of India, Dr Muzammil and Dr Shaheen performed Nikah in September 2023 at a mosque near Al-Falah University, Faridabad, where both worked as faculty members. The marriage was conducted under Sharia law with a nominal mehr amount of ₹5,000–6,000.

Dr Shaheen Allegedly Raised ₹28 Lakh for Jaish-e-Mohammed

The NIA investigation has found that Dr Shaheen Saeed transferred ₹27–28 lakh to the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module for procuring weapons and explosives. Key transactions include:

- ₹6.5 lakh offered to Muzammil in 2023 for buying arms

- ₹3 lakh given to suicide bomber Dr Umar Nabi in 2024 to purchase a Ford EcoSport car

Terror Hideouts in Faridabad: Rented Under Pretext of Fruit Business

Dr Muzammil rented multiple properties in Faridabad areas including Khori Jamalpur, Fatehpur Taga, and Dhauj. One three-bedroom house in Khori Jamalpur village (4 km from Al-Falah University) was rented from April to July 2025 from former Sarpanch Jumma at ₹8,000 per month. Muzammil claimed he needed the space for importing and selling Kashmiri fruits.

The former Sarpanch confirmed to NIA that Dr Shaheen visited the house multiple times with Muzammil and was introduced as a family member. The couple even took delivery of a new Maruti Brezza car bought by Shaheen in September.

Seventh Arrest: Ward Boy Shoaib Held for Sheltering Suicide Bomber Umar Nabi

On Wednesday, NIA arrested Shoaib, a ward boy at Al-Falah University, from Dhauj, Faridabad – the seventh arrest in the case. Shoaib allegedly:

- Provided shelter to suicide bomber Dr Umar Nabi just before the November 10 attack

- Arranged a rented room for Umar at his sister-in-law’s house in Nuh

- Helped transport explosives and material

Shoaib and another accused, Aamir Rashid Ali, were produced before Delhi’s Special Court and remanded to NIA custody for 10 and 7 days respectively.

On November 10, 2025, a Hyundai i20 car bomb exploded near Red Fort, killing 15 people including the suicide bomber Dr Umar Nabi (Assistant Professor at Al-Falah University, originally from Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir).

The NIA recovered 2,900 kg explosives, assault rifles, and other weapons from terror hideouts linked to Al-Falah University faculty.
