Kanwar Yatra 2025: Delhi to Haridwar Routes Changed

Due to the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, route diversions have been implemented from Delhi to Haridwar starting today. Travelers are advised to check the updated traffic and route diversion plan before beginning their journey to avoid inconvenience.
In view of Kanwar Yatra, the movement of heavy vehicles has been banned on Delhi-Haridwar route
During this, route diversion has also been done. This year Kanwar Yatra will be held from 11 to 23 July. According to Ghaziabad Police, entry of heavy vehicles will be banned on NH-58 and Delhi-Meerut Expressway for the next 13 days, while the movement of light and medium vehicles will be closed from July 18. Vehicles going from Delhi to Amroha, Haridwar or Lucknow will have to reach Dasna intersection via NH-9 from UP Gate or Ghazipur border, and from there proceed through Eastern Peripheral. Vehicles going from Baghpat to Delhi will pass through Tronica City and Sonia Vihar.
Apsara, Bhopura, Loni, Kalindi Kunj, Ghazipur and Chilla borders have been designated for the entry of Kanwariyas into Delhi. During this time, barricades have been installed keeping in mind security and facilities, as well as footpaths, motorcycle patrol units and sign boards. Additionally, police force has also been deployed to ensure tight security.
Officers of 5 states together prepared a traffic plan
The route diversion plan for heavy vehicles during the Kanwar Yatra has come into effect from 12 o'clock on Thursday night. Officials of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Rajasthan have together prepared this traffic plan, so that Kanwariyas and common people do not face any kind of problem. This diversion plan is specifically for heavy vehicles.
Now, instead of sending heavy vehicles going towards Dehradun from Delhi-Ghaziabad border towards Meerut, they will be diverted from Dasna via Hapur to Kithor area of Meerut. Similarly, heavy vehicles going towards Lucknow will also go from Dasna via Peripheral and Bulandshahr towards Moradabad-Bareilly.
Vehicles going towards Dehradun will travel from Meerut to Bijnor Road. These vehicles will reach Jansath in Muzaffarnagar via Bahsuma, from where they will move towards Rampur Tiraha.
They will reach Dehradun via Rohana and Biharigarh in Saharanpur. Keep in mind that the movement of small and light vehicles on the highway will be stopped from 12 midnight on July 14.
There are two options to go from Delhi to Dehradun
First route: Vehicles going from Delhi to Dehradun will go directly via Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Yamunanagar to Shahjahanpur check post in Saharanpur via Sarsawa to Ambala-Dehradun bypass.
