In the video, the former Bihar Chief Minister addressed the constituency's voters directly, saying, "Dear voters of Bankipur assembly constituency, my greetings to all of you. You know a by-election is underway in your assembly constituency, and voting will take place on July 30. With the trust, cooperation and blessings of all of you, we have worked with complete honesty over two decades to bring good governance, justice and development to the ground."

Kumar went on to cite the state's development record while urging voters to support the NDA nominee, saying, "Your every single vote is essential to keep up this pace of development and fulfil the resolve for a developed Bihar. I request all of you to give your blessings to NDA's young candidate Shri Neeraj Kumar Sinha, and press the button in front of the lotus symbol on voting day to make him victorious by a large margin. Namaskar."

Bankipur has long been considered a BJP stronghold, with the party winning the seat by wide margins for decades. The seat fell vacant after five-term MLA Nitin Nabin moved to the Rajya Sabha and became BJP's national president. For this bypoll, the party has fielded Neeraj Kumar Sinha, a leader from its youth wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.

The main challenge to the NDA in this contest comes from Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, who is treating the election as a significant test for his party, which failed to win a single seat in last November's Assembly elections. The Bankipur bypoll is being viewed as an opportunity for Jan Suraaj to establish stronger political ground going forward.

Voting in Bankipur will take place on July 30, with counting scheduled for August 3.
