After a 30-year legal battle, a landowner has finally received justice. The High Court has ordered South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) to provide her with a job as compensation for the loss of her land. This landmark decision marks the end of a prolonged struggle for the landowner.
the lands of many people were acquired for the SECL mine years ago. In return, the land owners were promised jobs in SECL and compensation. In the same sequence, the land of a woman was also acquired in Dipka village. She was given compensation, but the job was given to a fake person who claimed to be the woman's son. In this case, the woman fought a legal battle for 30 years and finally got justice today.
In fact, 0.21 acres of land of Nirmala Tiwari of Dipka village of Korba was acquired for coal mine in 1981. In return, SECL had to give her compensation and job to her family member under the rehabilitation policy. Compensation was given in 1985, but the job was given to a fake person Nand Kishore Jaiswal, who got the job by claiming himself to be the son of the petitioner.
The petitioner informed the SECL management about this fraud. After a long fight by the woman, SECL dismissed Nand Kishore from the job in the year 2016. After this, the woman demanded appointment for her son Umesh Tiwari. But SECL management refused to give the job saying that on the date of acquisition, the land was not mutated in the name of the petitioner and her son was not born at that time.
