Dhar to Organise 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' Plantation Drive with 500 Saplings on July 6

 A plantation drive under the Centre's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign will be held in Amjhera, Dhar district, on July 6, with 500 saplings to be planted and participation from government departments, students and local residents.

\As part of the Government of India's nationwide environmental initiative 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam', a large-scale plantation programme will be organised on July 6 in Amjhera of Dhar district. The campaign aims to promote environmental conservation by encouraging mass participation in tree plantation activities.

According to information released by the Forest Department, the programme will be held behind the Amjhera Police Station under the Sardarpur Forest Range, where 500 saplings will be planted during the event.

The plantation drive is being organised under the guidance of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change as part of its ambitious campaign to increase green cover and encourage citizens to contribute towards environmental protection.

Officials said representatives from various government departments, including the Police Department, Revenue Department, Janpad Panchayat, MGNREGA, National Cadet Corps (NCC), Forest Department, Self-Help Groups, local women, youth, school students and residents have been invited to participate in the programme.

The Forest Department has appealed to people from all sections of society to actively join the campaign and contribute towards making the initiative a success. The department believes that community participation is essential for achieving the campaign's objective of increasing tree cover while creating greater awareness about environmental conservation.

Ahead of the plantation programme, officials of the Forest Department also participated in a video conference-based training session organised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change to ensure smooth implementation of the campaign across the district.

The event will be conducted under the guidance of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ashok Kumar Solanki and Sub-Divisional Officer (Forest) Santosh Kumar Rastogi. Forest Department personnel have also been instructed to ensure maximum participation and proper maintenance of the planted saplings.

Officials said the plantation drive forms part of the nationwide 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, which encourages every citizen to plant a tree in honour of their mother while reinforcing the importance of environmental sustainability.

The Forest Department has urged citizens to participate in large numbers and help strengthen the district's green cover through collective action.
