According to the temple priest, Shankar Puri Goswami, this temple was built by King Bhojpal. According to legend, the Mother Goddess is also offered a cup, or liquor, on the ninth day of Navratri. An interesting story is that hundreds of years ago, a then-Tahildar (tahsildar) considered the Mata's miracles to be false and decided to excavate the temple site. However, the Mata appeared to him in a dream and made him realize her power. Subsequently, the same Tehsildar rebuilt the temple. Since then, the temple has remained a major center of faith for devotees. During Navratri, the atmosphere becomes even more divine, with devotees flocking from far and wide to visit the Mata.

At night, young women worship the Mother Goddess through the traditional Garba dance, another special feature of this temple.

Swastikas Made from Cow Dung
The temple has a unique tradition of making wishes. Women make inverted swastikas from cow dung behind the temple and make wishes. Upon their wishes being fulfilled, they return to the temple and straighten the inverted swastikas. People especially bring their young children before the Mother Goddess and have them bow their heads to her to receive her blessings.

The enthusiasm of devotees at the temple doubles as Navratri begins. Throughout the nine days, special events such as yagnas, rituals, and kumkum pujan are held, with hundreds of devotees participating. A special kumkum pujan ceremony is held especially for women, praying for peace and happiness in the family and for world peace.
