Pre-Monsoon Arrives in Madhya Pradesh, Storm and Rain Alert in 45 Districts

Pre-monsoon activity has finally made a strong entry into Madhya Pradesh, bringing much-needed relief from days of intense heat. Several parts of the state are witnessing thunderstorms, rainfall, and cooler winds as weather conditions suddenly changed across large areas.

The weather department has issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in 45 districts on Friday, warning that wind speeds may touch 50 to 60 km per hour in some places. With temperatures already beginning to drop, residents are expected to enjoy pleasant weather conditions for the next few days.

In the state capital Bhopal, weather conditions changed rapidly on Thursday evening. After a hot and humid day, strong winds started blowing and within a short time dust storms and rainfall were reported from several areas. It is being said that wind speeds in some locations reached nearly 70 km per hour. The impact of the storm was clearly visible across the city as trees and large branches collapsed in multiple areas, creating traffic disruptions and long jams on several important roads.

According to preliminary information, nearly 80 trees and branches fell at different locations across the city due to strong winds. The storm also affected electricity supply in several areas. Fallen trees and damaged power lines resulted in outages lasting for hours in some localities. Residents in many areas reportedly waited late into the night for power restoration while electricity department teams continued repair work at multiple locations. As the weather worsened, many people were seen taking shelter under buildings and shops waiting for the rain to slow down.

The changing weather was not limited to Bhopal. Rainfall activity was also reported from nearby districts. Heavy rain was recorded in the Ichhawar region of Sehore district where several roads and low-lying areas witnessed water accumulation. Reports of rainfall and strong winds also came from rural areas. Many farmers are looking at this rain as relief because rising temperatures had started affecting farming activities and livestock conditions in several regions.

Weather experts believe the increasing moisture coming from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal is playing an important role behind the growing pre-monsoon activity in Madhya Pradesh. Officials say that moisture combined with local weather systems is creating favorable conditions for clouds, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across the state. Because of this, similar weather conditions are likely to continue over the coming days.

According to the weather department, thunderstorms and rainfall activity may continue in different parts of the state for at least four more days. Some districts may receive light showers while others could witness heavy rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds. Weather officials believe temperatures may fall further, bringing continued relief from the scorching summer heat that had troubled residents over the past few weeks.
