Rewa Administration Clears ₹250 Crore Government Land, Demolishes Two Marriage Gardens

The Rewa district administration launched a major anti-encroachment drive on Tuesday, clearing alleged illegal occupation from government land valued at nearly ₹250 crore. The action was carried out near Dhobiya Tank, adjacent to an orphanage in the Rewa Municipal Corporation area, where two marriage gardens were reportedly operating on government property.
The demolition was conducted under the directions of Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi, with joint teams from the Revenue Department, Municipal Corporation and Police participating in the operation.
Action Followed Land Demarcation
Officials said the drive was initiated after the disputed land was officially demarcated to establish the boundaries of the government property.
Following the survey, authorities identified the area under alleged encroachment and proceeded with the removal in accordance with legal procedures.
Adequate police personnel were deployed at the site to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents during the demolition.
Two Marriage Gardens Removed
According to the administration, the encroachment involved Utsav Marriage Garden and Vindhya Marriage Garden, both of which were allegedly constructed on government land.
Bulldozers and heavy machinery were used to remove the structures during the operation. Revenue, municipal and police officials remained present throughout the drive to supervise the proceedings.
Collector Warns Against Illegal Occupation
Collector Narendra Kumar Suryavanshi said protecting government land remains one of the administration's top priorities.
He stated that action was taken only after proper land demarcation and verification, adding that similar action would continue wherever illegal occupation of public land is detected in the district.
The Collector also made it clear that no individual or organisation would be allowed to occupy government land unlawfully.
Encroachment Drive to Continue
District officials said the campaign to free government properties from encroachments will continue across Rewa.
The Revenue Department is monitoring several locations where government land is suspected to have been occupied illegally. Authorities indicated that additional surveys and demarcation exercises would be carried out before initiating similar action at other sites.
The administration also appealed to citizens to refrain from encroaching on public property and cooperate in protecting government land.
