Summer vacations in the capital’s government schools will begin on May 11 and last until June 30. Meanwhile, the Directorate of Education has mandated remedial classes from May 13 to 31, focusing on improving students’ grasp of various subjects.

 

Summer Vacation: Summer vacation will start in the government schools of the capital from May 11, which will last till June 30. In such a situation, the Directorate of Education has instructed the government schools to hold remedial classes from May 13 to 31. During this time, attention will be drawn to the nuances of different subjects.

It will include students of ninth, tenth and twelfth. The Directorate of Education has issued a circular in this regard. The circular states that the purpose of these classes is to strengthen the main concepts of the students, to enhance their learning skills.

Classes will run between 7:30 am to 10:30 am. In schools running in double shifts, classes will be run in different wings. During this time, it will be mandatory for students to come in school uniform during classes. Attendance will be recorded online. Parental consent is necessary for students to attend classes.

The Directorate has asked the teachers to give individual attention to the students. It has been clarified that if regular teachers are not available, guest and contract teachers can be engaged for remedial classes. At the same time, district and regional education officers have been instructed to visit at least two schools daily.

Computer labs will be set up in 100 government schools

Computer labs will be set up to enhance digital education among the students of government schools and make them technically competent. The Directorate of Education has tied up with Ladli Foundation Trust for this. The foundation will set up labs in 100 schools. There will be about 20 computers in a lab. This will also provide students the facility to take CUET mock tests.

According to the Directorate of Education, the lab will be built in an area of ​​​​300-400 square feet. A teacher will be appointed for this. Skill training, life skills workshops, mock tests will be available in the computer lab.

All school heads have been asked to do continuous monitoring for the evaluation of activities. So that evaluation can be done. The Directorate of Education has said that the lab should have all the necessary things like fans, furniture, electricity etc. School Management Committee (SMC) funds can be used for this.
