Bihar Board introduces Advanced Technology in Examination System: 10 High-Tech Centers with AI Surveillance
Digital Desk
The Bihar School Examination Board has launched a revolutionary step towards modernizing its examination infrastructure by establishing 10 state-of-the-art high-tech examination centers across nine divisions of the state. These model examination centers represent a significant leap in ensuring transparent, secure, and fair conduct of examinations while preventing malpractices that have plagued the education system.
Comprehensive Coverage and Capacity
The newly established centers can simultaneously accommodate 11,392 candidates, marking the largest examination infrastructure upgrade in Bihar's history. The flagship Bapu Examination Campus in Patna leads with a capacity of 2,980 students, followed by model centers in Gaya (1,168), Darbhanga (1,168), Muzaffarpur (1,168), and Bhagalpur (1,168). Additional centers in Munger (620), Saharsa (620), Chhapra (692), and Purnia (640) complete the network across the state.
Advanced Security and Monitoring Systems
Each center features cutting-edge technology including AI-enabled CCTV surveillance with zero blind spots, biometric attendance systems, and centralized control room connectivity. The implementation of artificial intelligence for monitoring represents a significant technological advancement, with AI systems capable of detecting suspicious activities such as unusual movements, gestures, or prolonged absences.
Enhanced Examination Experience
The centers support both Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and Paper-Based Tests (PBT) formats, providing air-conditioned halls, proper seating arrangements, baggage storage facilities, and dedicated waiting areas. For differently-abled candidates, scribes and additional facilities ensure inclusive examination procedures.
Security Measures and Transparency
A 200-meter restricted entry zone around each center prevents unauthorized access during examinations. The biometric registration system and continuous CCTV monitoring ensure complete transparency while the centralized control rooms enable real-time supervision of all examination activities.
This initiative aligns with Bihar's broader digitalization efforts and positions the state as a leader in examination reform nationwide.
