Salman Khan Advises Sohail Khan to Move On After Divorce

Salman Khan encouraged brother Sohail Khan to move on after his divorce from Seema Sajdeh, urging him to start dating again during an emotional television appearance.

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently offered heartfelt advice to his younger brother Sohail Khan, encouraging him to move forward with life following his divorce from Seema Sajdeh. During a recent episode of the reality show Show Alliance, where Sohail appeared as a contestant, Salman opened up about relationships, emotional struggles and the importance of embracing a fresh start.

Reflecting on Sohail and Seema's marriage, Salman acknowledged that every relationship goes through difficult phases. He said he understood that Sohail would never blame the separation entirely on one person and pointed out that he had watched some of Seema Sajdeh's interviews, where she described their marriage as "toxic" and spoke about frequent disagreements.

Salman explained that conflicts are a natural part of any relationship and do not necessarily define it. According to him, every couple faces arguments, but ultimately it is up to the two individuals to decide whether they want to stay together or part ways.

"As your brother, I know you tried your best, and she did too. But at that point in time, things simply didn't work in your favour," Salman said during the conversation.

"Start dating someone. Move on," Salman advised. He went on to explain how the human mind often focuses on a single negative aspect while ignoring everything positive happening in life.

"You know how our mind works. Even if 99.9 percent of your life is going well, the mind keeps going back to that one negative thing. It keeps reminding you of what isn't working instead of appreciating everything else," he said.

Salman added that people often become trapped in repetitive negative thoughts, allowing one painful experience to overshadow all the good things around them. He encouraged Sohail to shift his focus towards happiness and new experiences rather than remaining emotionally attached to the past.

The emotional moment continued when Salman surprised Sohail by arranging a video call with his son, Nirvaan Khan, using his phone. Sohail, who had reportedly been missing his family over the past few weeks, became visibly emotional during the conversation with his son. The heartfelt interaction brought a smile to his face and became one of the most touching moments of the episode.

Sohail Khan and Seema Sajdeh share a long personal history. The couple first met at Chunky Panday's engagement party, where Sohail reportedly fell in love with Seema at first sight. They soon began dating, but their relationship faced resistance from Seema's family because they belonged to different religions.

Despite the opposition, the couple decided to stay together. On March 15, 1998—the same day Sohail's directorial debut Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya was released—they eloped and got married. The couple first had an Arya Samaj wedding and later solemnised their marriage through a Nikah ceremony.

They welcomed their first son, Nirvaan Khan, in 2000, followed by their second son, Yohan Khan, in 2011. After nearly 24 years of marriage, Sohail and Seema officially separated in 2022.

Salman Khan, the eldest of the three Khan brothers, has often spoken about the importance of family and standing by loved ones during difficult times. His conversation with Sohail reflected a supportive and practical approach, encouraging acceptance, healing and the courage to move forward after life's setbacks.
