Special Appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Mark an Institutional Milestone for Sahil Luthra and VTDS

Sahil Luthra, Founder and Managing Director of Vijayan Trishul Defence Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (VTDS), has received special appreciation from Shri Narendra Modi ji,Prime Minister of India, and Shri Rajnath Singh ji, the Defence Minister of India.

In a sector where credibility is earned through consistency, compliance, and long-term alignment with national priorities, such recognition is viewed as asignificant institutional signal rather than an individual accolade.
Within VTDS, these communications are understood as an affirmation of the company’s governance standards, strategic discipline, and nation-first orientation. Rather than being positioned as personal commendations, they are regarded as markers that the organisation’s direction: its focus on indigenous capability, process integrity, and responsible private participation, is aligned with the expectations placed on defence manufacturers operating in sensitive national security domains.
Founded to strengthen India’s domestic defence manufacturing base, VTDS is an indigenous enterprise focused on the production of small arms and ammunition. The company was established on the premise that sustained national security cannot rely on external supply chains, particularly in strategically critical areas. Its operating framework prioritises precision manufacturing, quality assurance, and the gradual building of capability over rapid scale or visibility.
Sahil Luthra’s leadership approach reflects a belief that private enterprise in defence must function as an institution, not merely a commercial entity. At VTDS, this translates into disciplined execution, investment in systems and processes, and alignment with India’s broader strategic initiatives such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. The emphasis remains on building manufacturing reliability and organisational resilience that can endure over decades.
Alongside domestic institutional recognition, Sahil Luthra has also been acknowledged on international and national platforms for his leadership trajectory. He was named Young Leader, Visionary in Defence Leadership 2025 at the House of Commons in London and was included in the ET Edge 40 Under 40 list.

Reflecting on the evolution of the sector, Sahil Luthra notes: “India’s defence ecosystem is entering a phase where indigenous capability, private participation, and accountability will define credibility. Our responsibility is to build systems that can be trusted over decades, not just products for the present. VTDS is focused on contributing to that future with consistency and discipline.”
