Pant reached the milestone in trademark aggressive fashion off Sri Lankan pacer Lahiru Kumara. Getting inside the line of a length ball angled into him, Pant pulled it over the long-leg boundary. The maximum not only brought up his 100th Test six but also completed his 20th half-century in Test cricket.

With this feat, Pant joins an elite global list led by England's Ben Stokes (138 sixes), former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum (107 sixes), and former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist (100 sixes). Notably, Pant achieved the landmark at an extraordinary rate of 49.2 balls per six, making him the fastest among all four batters to reach the century mark.
