Modern Features Added

The low-floor buses include CCTV cameras, panic buttons, GPS tracking, passenger-counting technology and accessibility features for wheelchair users. Officials will assess charging performance, braking, route timings and passenger response during the trial period.

Metro Link Is Key

Feeder services can determine whether commuters actually use a Metro system. Without dependable buses connecting residential areas to stations, passengers may continue relying on private vehicles, autos or app-based cabs.

Large Fleet Planned

Authorities have outlined a phased electric-bus expansion for Bhopal, with regular operations expected to start around August 15. The wider plan covers multiple routes and aims to serve a substantial share of daily commuters.

Execution Will Decide Success

Reliable frequency, affordable fares and accurate passenger information will matter more than the launch ceremony. Bhopal must also provide charging infrastructure, trained maintenance teams and safe, well-designed bus stops.
