Cricketer Smriti Mandhana to tie knot with Indore’s film director

Film director, musician, writer, actor, and singer Palash Muchhal announced in Indore on Friday that he will soon marry Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana. With a smile on his face, he said, “Smriti will soon become Indore’s daughter-in-law. Indore resides within me.”
Palash mentioned that Smriti Mandhana, vice-captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, is currently participating in the Women’s Cricket World Cup. With the India-England match scheduled for October 19, he plans to attend the game in the stadium to cheer for Team India and support Smriti.
‘Raju Band Wala’ to Showcase Indore
Palash is presently directing his upcoming film ‘Raju Band Wala’, which portrays the struggles, emotions, and spirit of wedding band players. The film stars Chandan Roy of Panchayat fame in the lead role, with Avika Gor as the heroine.
Several renowned stars will appear in cameo roles, and artists from the music industry will pay tribute to the band community. Palash said he is committed to creating clean, meaningful, and message-driven cinema.
Plans for a Production House in Indore
Palash revealed plans to establish a film production house in Indore, saying, “While technical resources are limited here, the city’s locations and cooperative people make it ideal for filmmaking.”
The first schedule of Raju Band Wala has been completed, and the second schedule is set for December in Indore. The film will premiere on a leading OTT platform in April next year.
A Challenging Role for Chandan Roy
Lead actor Chandan Roy described his role as the most demanding of his career. To bring authenticity to his character, he learned to play the trumpet and studied the daily lives of band players. He praised Palash’s direction, saying that the filmmaker encourages actors to start as a “blank canvas” before shaping their performance with depth and color.
Avika Gor: ‘Work Comes Above All’
Actress Avika Gor said that the love and trust she has received from audiences since childhood continue to motivate her. Even amid her wedding preparations, she remains focused on her shoot in Indore.
