According to railway sources, this rack had arrived in Indore just a few days ago and its trial and maintenance work was ongoing at Laxmibai Nagar station. The new 16-coach rack that recently arrived for the Vande Bharat train running between Indore and Nagpur has now been ordered to be sent to Delhi.
The Railway Board has suddenly decided to issue directions to send this rack to Delhi. It is being reported that this rack has already departed from Indore to Delhi yesterday, this step has been taken keeping in mind the operation of new Vande Bharat trains and technical requirements in Delhi.
This decision has caused disappointment among passengers, as this route experiences heavy crowds during the festival season. Passengers were hoping that the addition of 16 coaches would address the severe shortage of seats.
Due to this, the plan for a 16-coach Vande Bharat train on the Indore-Nagpur route has been temporarily suspended. Railway officials say that this plan has not been completely cancelled, but has been postponed for now, as soon as new rakes become available, Indore will be given priority. New dates will be announced as soon as the situation becomes clear. Currently, only an 8-coach Vande Bharat train is operating on this route, which often gets fully booked weeks in advance.
Passengers say that if a 16-coach train were to start, it would make traveling easier during the festival season.
