Rationalization Success in Chhattisgarh: Counseling Completed in 6 Districts, Over 1500 Surplus Teachers Get New Postings
Raipur, CG
The Education Department of the Chhattisgarh government has successfully completed the counseling process for surplus Assistant Teachers, Head Teachers, and Lecturers in six districts. So far, more than 1,500 teachers have been given new postings.
This process has been carried out in the districts of Korba, Sukma, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Balodabazar, and Surajpur. Counseling is currently underway in Mungeli, Rajnandgaon, Balod, and Durg.
Teachers have been appointed based on their seniority and the availability of vacant positions. The objective of this rationalization is to optimize educational resources and improve overall quality.
Out of the total 10,463 schools in the state, only 166 schools will be merged. These include 133 rural schools where student numbers are below 10 and another school exists within one kilometer. In urban areas, 33 schools have fewer than 30 students and another school within 500 meters. These schools will be merged with nearby, better-equipped institutions to ensure students receive improved educational environments and resources.
The Chhattisgarh government believes that this rationalization will enhance the standard of education, provide students with specialized teachers, and offer modern facilities like libraries, laboratories, and computers. This move is being seen as a major educational reform that aims to build a strong foundation for future generations.
