CM Mohan warns collectors over fertilizer chaos in MP

Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan said collectors will be held responsible for disorder at fertilizer distribution centers. He directed officials to ensure smooth arrangements for farmers and prevent any inconvenience.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the district administration should make necessary arrangements regarding the distribution of fertilizers in the districts. Ensure proper distribution of the available fertilizers and remain in constant dialogue and contact with the representatives of the farmers' organizations. Representatives of the farmers' organization should also be included in the fertilizer distribution system. If there is chaos regarding fertilizer distribution in the districts, then the District Collector will be responsible for it. The CM said that the state government is with the farmers in every situation.
In fact, on Wednesday, CM Dr. Mohan reviewed the relief work in the areas affected by heavy rains and floods and the status of fertilizer distribution in the districts at his residence. All the district collectors and concerned officers joined virtually in this meeting. During this, the Chief Minister said that an intensive review of fertilizer availability in the districts should be done. Also, share the information about the stock available in the district with the public representatives, this will help in making the farmers aware of the actual status of fertilizer availability in the district. The district administration should compulsorily do surprise verification and monitoring of double lock, PACS and private sales centers. If additional sales centers are required, their operation should be started immediately. Officials of Agriculture, Cooperative Bank, Marketing Federation should be in constant touch.
53 FIRs and 88 licenses cancelled for illegal activities related to fertilizers
In this meeting, information was given about the availability and transit status of urea, DAP, NPK, SSP, MOP and DAP + NPK for Kharif 2025. Along with this, necessary guidelines were given regarding the nano and organic fertilizer distribution program. It was told that while taking action on cases related to black marketing of fertilizers, illegal storage, illegal transportation and fake fertilizers etc., 53 FIRs were registered and 88 license cancellations, 102 license suspensions and 406 sales bans were taken.
Follow the innovations made in better distribution system of fertilizers
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan discussed with the collectors of Dhar, Damoh, Jabalpur and Rewa districts regarding the fertilizer distribution system. Damoh Collector said that while ensuring continuous contact and communication with the representatives of farmer organizations, their cooperation is being taken in the distribution system. Also, token distribution and fertilizer distribution have been separated. Tokens are being distributed from the tehsil office and distribution is being done from the sales centers. Jabalpur Collector said that the arrangement of token distribution for farmers is being ensured through phone calls. Display boards have been installed at fertilizer distribution centers. Fertilizer is being distributed by displaying token numbers on the board. The quantity of fertilizers available in the district is also being displayed on the display board. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed other districts to adopt such innovations.
Police administration should remain alert and active in case of flood and heavy rainfall
The CM said that in the areas of the state where crops have been damaged due to heavy rainfall and flood, immediate action should be initiated for relief. Also, in case of loss of life and animal loss, relief should be provided within 24 hours. Necessary material should be available at all possible places to ensure quick arrangements for temporary camp arrangements, ration distribution, food distribution etc. during floods. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the coming days as well. The police administration in all districts should remain active and vigilant and ensure all necessary precautions like barricading on bridges and warning people not to cross the bridge in case of flood.
21 percent more rainfall than average in MP
It was told in the meeting that from 1 June to 2 September, 971.5 mm i.e. 38.24 inches of rainfall has been recorded in the state, which is 21 percent more than the average. In 21 districts of MP, Bhind, Chhatarpur, Sheopur, Gwalior, Neemuch, Morena, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Alirajpur, Singrauli, Rajgarh, Mandla, Sidhi, Tikamgarh, Guna, Narsinghpur, Datia, Ratlam, Umaria, Raisen and Seoni recorded more than normal rainfall. Maximum rainfall was recorded in Guna, Mandla, Sheopur, Raisen and Ashoknagar. Information about the condition of waterlogging in the major dams of the state was also presented.
Relief amount of more than 20 crore rupees approved for 17,500 affected farmers
It was told in the meeting that a total of 394 people lost their lives and more than 5 thousand houses were damaged in flood and heavy rains. 1814 animal deaths were also recorded due to flood. A total of 12 thousand hectares of land in Shivpuri, Burhanpur, Damoh, Ashoknagar, Dhar, Chhatarpur, Raisen, Umaria, Barwani, Mandla and Katni districts has been affected by heavy rain and flood. Relief amount of more than 20 crore rupees has been approved for the affected 17 thousand 500 farmers.
