It is believed that by slowly saying your wish in the ear of Nandi Maharaj, the vehicle and supreme devotee of Lord Shiva, he conveys it directly to Mahadev. But the question arises – which ear? According to the Puranas and temple traditions, one should say his wish in the right (right) ear of Nandi Maharaj.
Devotees believe that Nandi Maharaj is always looking towards the Shivling in a meditative posture, and his consciousness is directly connected to Lord Shiva. In such a situation, when a devotee says his prayer in his right ear, Nandi immediately conveys it to Lord Shiva.
