New Delhi
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has launched a significant initiative to introduce non-Hindi languages in government schools. She has directed officials to prepare a detailed plan for implementation, aiming to promote linguistic diversity and cultural understanding among students.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched an initiative to promote national unity and cultural understanding. She proposed that students studying in Delhi will be given the opportunity to participate in dialogue and cultural exchange programs with students from other states. This information was shared through an official statement, which mentioned that recently an important meeting was held with officials of the Department of Art, Culture and Language, in which this initiative was discussed.
Emphasis on education of non-Hindi languages
During the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the possibilities of children studying non-Hindi languages in Delhi schools will be considered. He believes that languages are not only a means of communication, but they also reflect the culture, tradition and thinking of a society. If children are familiar with the languages of other states, they will not only understand those languages but will also be able to connect with the social and cultural identity there.
Special instructions for the promotion of Indian languages
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has directed the officials to prepare a comprehensive and practical report for the promotion of Indian languages in the capital. This report should clearly mention which languages can be taught at primary, secondary and higher levels, as well as the information about the educational structure and curriculum required for every level. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to submit detailed information about trained teachers, textbooks, digital resources and infrastructure.
