Sakti School Liquor-Party Video Goes Viral; Five Teachers and Sweeper Get Notices

The employees have been given three days to explain their conduct as the education department verifies the video.

The Chhattisgarh Education Department has initiated an inquiry after a viral video purportedly showed five teachers and a sanitation worker consuming alcohol inside a government-school campus in Sakti district.

The incident reportedly occurred at Government Higher Secondary School, Kirari, in Malkharoda block after regular school hours.

The video shows liquor bottles, glasses and plates of food placed on a table while several employees sit around it. Local residents reportedly recorded the gathering after entering the school premises.

Three Days to Submit Replies

The District Education Officer has issued show-cause notices to the five teachers and the sanitation worker seen in the footage. They have been directed to submit written explanations within three days.

Officials said the authenticity of the video, the timing of the gathering and the circumstances in which it was recorded would be examined during the departmental inquiry.

Further action will be decided after the employees’ responses are received and the facts are verified.

Residents Demand Accountability

Some villagers alleged that similar gatherings had previously taken place on the campus. That allegation has not been independently verified.

The incident has caused anger among residents and renewed questions about monitoring and discipline in government schools.

Since the footage remains under official examination, the employees’ alleged conduct should not be presented as conclusively established until the departmental investigation is completed.
