Women Empowerment Mega Conference to be Held in Bhopal on May 31, PM Modi to Attend as Chief Guest

The Madhya Pradesh government is set to launch a series of historic events dedicated to women's empowerment and cultural heritage. On May 31, a grand Women Empowerment Mega Conference will be held at Jamboree Ground in Bhopal, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend as the chief guest. Additionally, on June 3, a cabinet meeting will be held in Pachmarhi in memory of tribal king Bhubhut Singh.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav shared this information while addressing the Council of Ministers meeting at Rajwada Durbar Hall in Indore on Monday. He stated that these events are being organized to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. Inspired by her personality and good governance, the state government is committed to realizing the vision of “From Heritage to Development.”

Mega Conference Dedicated to Women's Power
More than two lakh women from across the state are expected to participate in the mega conference on May 31. Women entrepreneurs, self-help groups, working women, and beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana will be actively involved. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi will also virtually inaugurate the Indore Metro and the Satna and Datia airports.

Series of Cultural and Literary Events
From May 20 to May 31, grand cultural and literary programs will be organized throughout the state in memory of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar.

  • On May 22, the grand play Ahilyakathan Sannadati will be performed at Kalidas Sanskrit Academy, Ujjain.

  • On May 23, a women's poetry conference will be held in Mahidpur, Ujjain.

  • On May 29, the play Shivyogini Ahilya will be staged at the Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium in Indore.

  • On May 31, a concluding ceremony will be held at the Rajwada premises in Indore, with floral tributes offered to Lokmata’s statue.

Cabinet Meeting in Pachmarhi on June 3
To honor tribal pride, a cabinet meeting will be held in Pachmarhi on June 3 in memory of King Bhubhut Singh. The Chief Minister said this meeting is an effort to highlight the state’s heritage and tribal contributions on a national platform.

Historic Decisions in Farmers’ Interest
The Chief Minister informed that this year, the state has procured around 7.8 million metric tons of wheat from nine lakh farmers—30 lakh metric tons more than last year. The government has directly paid ₹20,000 crore to farmers, including 1.25 lakh women farmers.

Thanks to PM for Implementation of ‘Rahveer Yojana’
During the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Modi was thanked for implementing the Rahveer Yojana. Under this scheme, any citizen who helps a road accident victim reach the hospital will receive a reward of up to ₹25,000. The scheme has already been rolled out in the state.

Respect for Tradition and Culture
During the cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister and all ministers participated wearing traditional dhotis. It was also announced that a memorial for Devi Ahilyabai Holkar will be constructed in the Lalbagh Palace complex at a cost of ₹100 crore. The memorial will preserve her legacy, values, and contributions for future generations.
