CM Sai Holds Officials Accountable for Negligence in Public Works

 In a review meeting, CM Sai issued a stern warning, stating that Collectors and SPs will be held responsible for lapses in public interest projects.

Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today conducted an in-depth review of government schemes, construction works and public welfare programs being run in three districts Janjgir-Champa, Sakti and Korba in a high-level meeting held at the District Panchayat Office of Janjgir-Champa district. Expressing displeasure over the delay in approval of roads approved in Janjgir-Champa district in the budget in the last financial year, he directedto send immediate proposals on priority basis. In the meeting, the CM told the officers, Collector, SP will be responsible for negligence in public interest works.

The Chief Minister said in the meeting that the state government is working to establish good governance in the state with transparency. In this episode, Sushasan Tihar is being celebrated in the state. After completion of two phases of Sushasan Tihar, the third phase has started from today. He said that good work has been done in the last one and a half years, but their speed and quality need to be increased further. Collector, SP should do more good work. Officers should visit rural areas as much as possible.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to behave cordially with the general public and public representatives. He asked the officials to discharge their responsibilities honestly with full dedication. The Chief Minister clearly said in the meeting that negligence in public interest works will not be tolerated and the Collector and SP will be directly responsible for this in the district.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed all the collectors to complete the process of determining district-wise routes soon for the effective implementation of the Rural Bus Facility Scheme. He said that this scheme is a major initiative towards providing transport facilities to the villagers. The Chief Minister inquired about the updated status of institutional delivery, sickle cell screening and drinking water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed that income, caste and residence certificates should be distributed to the students studying in schools as soon as the session starts.

Instructions to create awareness about the use of generic medicines

CM Vishnudev Sai reviewed the progress of revenue records, ownership scheme, Ayushman Bharat, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Pradhan Mantri Urban Housing Scheme etc. and directed to provide the benefits of beneficiary-oriented schemes to the eligible people. The Chief Minister directed the Chief Medical and Health Officers to make the general public aware about the use of generic medicines. Doctors should be encouraged to prescribe generic medicines to patients, so that medicines can be obtained at subsidized rates from Jan Aushadhi Kendras. While instructing the Agriculture Department to promote peanut cultivation under crop cycle change, he also reviewed the preparation of fertilizer-seed storage and distribution.

The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the slow progress of 47 thousand houses approved under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana. The lack of masons and centering teams was cited as the main reason by the officials. The Chief Minister directed to solve this problem by training rural youth as masons. He also clarified that under the scheme, arrangements for free sand supply have already been made, in which the beneficiaries should not face any kind of problem. The Chief Minister said that in a joint family, there is a hindrance in housing approval if there is no land in the name of married sons. In such a situation, if the father writes a donation letter of just Rs 500, then its benefit can be availed.

Train officers to provide new facilities to the public: Minister Chaudhary

In the meeting, Finance Minister and Minister in charge of the district OP Chaudhary directed to train officers by organizing special technical workshops to provide 10 new public welfare facilities started by the Registration Department to the general public. Chief Minister Sai finally directed the officers to maintain respectful dialogue with public representatives and common citizens and ensure their active role in building an inclusive and developed future of Chhattisgarh. MP Kamlesh Jangde, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister P. Dayanand, Collectors of all three districts, Superintendents of Police and senior officers of all departments were present in the meeting.
